This large guest room decorated in soothing blue and white features an exquisite vintage tile fireplace that once must have been the main source of heat in the space. Resplendent with shelves containing books from a bygone era, the main attraction is certainly the king-sized bed with its incredibly comfortable bedding.
Located on the second floor, the Wallace Guest Room features a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, and windows overlooking the city's park and neighboring historic buildings.

Formerly the McDonough Family Suite with Annex, the newly remodeled suite has been renamed the Bates Bobcat Family Suite with Bobcat Den! We have just unveiled the family suite in May 2023. Like the Kelsey Family Suite, the Bates Bobcat Family Suite is ideally suited for a family visiting Bates College with a prospective student or a family of 3 visiting the area. Many guests come to the inn to either explore colleges or attend Bates family weekends and graduations. We are excited for all that lies ahead for our hopefuls and graduates! This suite has every bit of college swag you would expect from an immersive Bates-centric experience.
Guests don't have to be college-bound to enjoy the amenities, though. Plenty of guests aren't here to visit colleges, but that doesn't mean they can't enjoy the experience and all the comforts with it. We welcome all to enjoy our newest renovation!
The main bedroom of the Bates Bobcat Family Suite offers a queen-sized bed, a decoupaged antique vanity that also serves as a writing table, closets, shelves, a flatscreen TV with cable and Roku. The windows overlook neighboring historic buildings. This suite features a lovely deep claw foot soaking tub complete with shower accessories. Imagine sinking neck-deep in a relaxing bubble bath before snuggling into bed for the night.
The two bedrooms and accompanying bathroom are located at the West end of the second floor of the Inn and are completely private.

The new suite offers a surprise at every turn. Even the hallway from the main bedroom to the Bobcat Den is Bates by design! The pictures forming the "B" are all from the college and include the campus grounds through changing seasons, student activities, academics, sports, dance, and more! There is a large, framed campus map on the opposite wall. Look down at the newly laid floor and you will find bobcat tracks! Follow the pawprints to the Bobcat Den...
Bobcat Den
The Bobcat Den is a living room that includes a twin daybed, a flatscreen TV, and a game console. Donned in Bates' signature garnet and white, the Den has that "dorm feel" with all the amenities and none of the homework! The color-changing string lights come with a remote. The TV includes streaming services. Its window overlooks the Inn's courtyard. The room rate includes the main bedroom and the Bobcat Den.
